The International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children has united 49 countries, with Switzerland and Cyprus recently joining, according to the Ukrainian Parliament’s Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets reported.

Canada, the EU, and the UK have simultaneously imposed sanctions on those involved in the removal, forced “re-education”, and illegal “adoption” of Ukrainian children.

Canada has sanctioned 23 individuals and 5 so-called “re-education” camps, disguised as cadet classes, regular schools, summer camps, and rehabilitation centers.

The EU has added 16 individuals and 7 legal entities to its sanctions list, with further synchronization of sanctions with partners.

The UK has imposed restrictions on 63 individuals and 22 organizations, including direct participants in schemes of illegal “adoption”.

Currently, 2,134 children have been returned home as part of the President of Ukraine’s Bring Kids Back UA initiative. However, thousands of children remain in temporary occupation or on the territory of the Russian Federation.

The coalition meeting in Brussels has decided to allocate tens of millions of euros for the protection of Ukrainian children, search, data verification, and return home, as well as to strengthen international monitoring and accountability mechanisms.

A separate resource will be directed to organizations working on the return of children and family support.
