The United Kingdom has imposed sanctions on 85 Russian individuals and entities involved in the deportation, indoctrination, and militarization of Ukrainian children.
The UK government has also allocated an additional £1.2 million to search for and verify the identities of these children.
Of this amount, £600,000 will go to the Verification Center, which searches for deported children and provides the UN Commission with substantial evidence that Russia’s actions are crimes against humanity.
The remaining £600,000 will be allocated to the search program led by Ukraine.
According to the Ministry of Social Policy, thanks to the Bring Kids Back UA initiative, 2,133 Ukrainian children have been returned home.
1.6 million children are still under Russian control – deported, forcibly displaced, or in temporarily occupied territory.
