The Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, and the International Committee of the Red Cross are working on safe routes for the evacuation of the civilian population from the temporarily occupied communities of the Kherson region.
A critical humanitarian situation persists in Oleshky, Hola Prystan, Stara Zburivka, and Nova Zburivka. Russian occupiers are blocking the exit of people and hindering the supply of basic goods and medicines.
The population of these communities has decreased from about 40,000 to approximately 6,000 people, including in Oleshky – from 24,000 to about 2,000.
According to Lubinets, more than 6,000 people may need humanitarian aid, including about 200 children, most of whom are people with limited mobility.
Earlier, I appealed to the International Committee of the Red Cross and to the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation regarding the need to organize a safe evacuation of the civilian population.

In response, the ICRC confirmed its readiness to facilitate the necessary measures for the organization of the departure of Ukrainian citizens from this territory.
Lubinets noted that currently, the parties are agreeing on safe evacuation routes, and after their approval, concrete steps will be taken for the departure of civilians who need it.
A consolidated list of people in need of assistance and evacuation has been sent to the ICRC. The parties are in constant contact.
