Five people were killed and 18 others injured in a Russian missile strike on the town of Merefa in Kharkiv region, the head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov has reported.
The dead include men aged 50 and 63 and women aged 41, 52 and 74.
Four of the injured are in a serious condition. Another 12 people sustained moderate blast injuries, while two have been diagnosed with an acute stress reaction. All are receiving the necessary medical care.
At least 10 houses, 4 shops, a vehicle service station, an administrative building, a food outlet and 2 cars were damaged in Merefa.
Two more people received medical assistance in Bezliudivka. A 69-year-old man and woman suffered an acute stress reaction following a Russian drone strike but did not require hospitalisation.
Units of the State Emergency Service, police and emergency medics are working at the sites. Response operations are ongoing.
