Under the “Housing for Internally Displaced Persons from Temporarily Occupied Territories” component of the eVidnovlennya programme, 3,296 applications for housing voucher financing have been approved for a total of UAH 6.59 billion. This was announced by the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories.
The vouchers are intended for IDPs from temporarily occupied territories who hold the status of combatant or person with a disability resulting from the war.
The state guarantee for the purchase of housing amounts to UAH 2 million.
Applicants whose financing has been confirmed can already see an updated voucher status in the Diia app – “contact a notary”. From that point, they have 60 days to conclude a housing purchase agreement with any notary.
The booking of funds via Diia opened on 1 May for those whose applications had been preliminarily approved by local commissions. More than 5,000 requests were submitted in the first hour, and nearly 17,000 within two days.
In total, more than 37,000 applications have been submitted under the programme, of which over 27,600 have already been approved by commissions.
The voucher holder has five years to use it and independently decides when to submit an application to book the funds. The funds may be used to purchase a flat or a house, to invest in construction, or to partially repay a housing loan.
Earlier, the Government allocated almost UAH 6.6 billion for the first stage of programme financing.
According to Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine and Minister for Development of Communities and Territories, work is under way to attract additional financing, including approximately UAH 3.9 billion from the Council of Europe Development Bank.
