An additional UAH 421.1 million to be allocated for upgrading school canteens

The Government has approved the second distribution of the subvention for upgrading school canteens – 15 regions will receive UAH 421.1 million as part of the school meals reform, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko announced.

The funds will be used to purchase equipment and to create and modernise 25 catering units. The upgrade of school infrastructure will be carried out in partnership with local communities.

Earlier, the Government had already allocated UAH 46.5 million to complete the upgrade of 19 school canteens, which began in 2025.

In total, around 20% of catering units in Ukraine have been modernised. In particular, 188 canteens were upgraded using the state subvention, while more than 1,500 others were renovated through local budgets and the support of international partners.
