The Swedish project Reskilling Ukraine has opened applications for free training programmes for women seeking to master skilled trades in the construction sector. Applications are accepted until 8 May under the Iron Women programme.
Recruitment is open for two specialisms:
- Iron Women: front loader operator – categories A1, A2, E1. The course is aimed at women who want to learn to operate tractors of varying capacities and front loaders for work on construction sites, in the extractive industry and in other sectors.
- Iron Women: excavator operator – categories A1, D1. The course covers operating excavators for earthworks, repair and preparatory tasks on construction sites.
The training consists of two stages: 10 weeks of online theory from 23 May to 31 July 2026 and 4 weeks of practical sessions from 3 to 28 August 2026. Participants will complete the practical part in Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions, at the Polissia Industrial Professional College and the ETS group of companies – the official dealer of Volvo Construction Equipment in Ukraine.
For the duration of the practical sessions, the organisers will provide participants with accommodation and meals.
Upon completion of the course, participants will receive certificates of training in the respective categories, entitling them to sit the qualification examination at the bodies of the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
Women aged 18 and over with full or basic general secondary education who are prepared to work in the chosen profession after completing the training are invited to apply.
