According to the Ministry of Economy, support totaling 20 million euros will be available for internally displaced persons (IDPs), Ukrainians returning home, and host communities in Sumy, Chernihiv, and Kyiv regions. The support is part of the “Resilience+: Economic Integration of Internally Displaced Persons and Conflict-Affected Individuals” project, implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), funded by the German Development Bank (KfW) on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ).
The project includes grants for restarting and supporting businesses in Sumy, Chernihiv, and Kyiv regions:
- 150 grants of up to 7,000 euros for microenterprises
- 90 grants of up to 20,000 euros for small enterprises
- 45 grants of up to 15,000 euros for start-up microenterprises
Additionally, four economic clusters will receive grants of up to 80,000 euros to enhance the competitiveness of their products, stimulate exports, and promote regional economic development.
The project also provides support for IDPs and returning Ukrainians, including youth, women, and other community members in the three regions, through training to improve professional skills and increase employment opportunities—500 individuals will receive vouchers of up to 1,000 euros for educational/professional development courses.
Several initiatives will focus on restoring and enhancing social resilience in Sumy, Chernihiv, and Kyiv regions, including the reconstruction of economic infrastructure and the creation of a network of hubs and sub-hubs.
We previously reported that internet providers and mobile operators will be able to reserve up to 100% of their staff.
