Ukrzaliznytsia has opened ticket sales for women-only carriages on three further trains. New women-only compartments will be introduced on the Kharkiv–Odesa, Lviv–Odesa and Lviv–Kyiv routes, with services commencing on 1 May. The decision was made due to consistently high demand for this travel option, which has demonstrated high occupancy rates.
The company reported that the average occupancy rate for women-only carriages exceeds 92%, and passenger satisfaction remains high. As a result, the network of such carriages is being gradually expanded on popular inter-regional routes.
From May, women-only carriages will operate on trains No. 7 Kharkiv–Odesa, No. 12 Lviv–Odesa and No. 92 Lviv–Kyiv. This will bring the total number of routes with separate women-only compartments to 18.
Women-only carriages are already in operation on the routes Kharkiv–Vorokhta, Zaporizhzhia–Uzhhorod, Zaporizhzhia–Yasinya, Kharkiv–Yasinya, Kharkiv–Uzhhorod, Lviv–Kharkiv, Odesa–Yasinya, Kyiv–Uzhhorod, Kyiv–Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro–Truskavets, Cherkasy–Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv–Kryvyi Rih, Kyiv–Rakhiv and Kovel–Kyiv.
Ukrzaliznytsia has reminded passengers that women-only carriages are standard compartment carriages. Ticket prices for these carriages are the same as the standard price for this class of seating. There are no additional charges for this specific seating arrangement.
When purchasing tickets via the app or on the website, these carriages are marked separately. Traditionally, this is carriage No. 5 in the relevant train.
