Registration for entrance exams for master’s and postgraduate programmes has begun

Registration has begun in Ukraine for entrance examinations for graduates of higher education institutions who plan to continue their studies at master’s or doctoral level in 2026. Applications can be submitted until 14 May via university admissions offices — either in person or remotely.

This involves several compulsory examinations. The single entrance examination assesses general academic competence and knowledge of a foreign language. For most master’s degree programmes, candidates must also sit a subject-specific entrance examination. Admission to doctoral programmes includes an examination in research methodology.

Submitting documents online requires the use of a qualified electronic signature. A simplified procedure applies to applicants from temporarily occupied territories.

Admission requirements for 2026 limit the number of applications for master’s programmes to ten, of which up to five may be submitted for state-funded places. The minimum competitive score for admission to state-funded study is 130. To enter a postgraduate programme, candidates must score at least 300 points in the single entrance examination. Full-time postgraduate programmes are funded through state or regional quotas.

The main session of entrance examinations will run from late June to late July. Postgraduate entrance examinations may also be taken abroad, but only during this period. An additional session in August is provided for applicants who were unable to take part in the main session for valid reasons.

The exam schedule, list of required documents and detailed admission conditions are published on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science.
