Ukrainian Gas Stations Have Officially Begun Selling Medicines

Key Points:

  • More than 50 gas stations in two regions have already started selling medicines.
  • The product range includes about 100 popular first-aid items.
  • Sales are permitted only if the station holds a license and meets specific storage requirements.

Ukrainian drivers and travelers can now purchase essential medicines directly while stopping to refuel. This initiative brings the domestic market closer to European standards, where the sale of basic health products in supermarkets and at gas stations is common practice.

The first pharmacy kiosks have already opened at over 50 locations of major gas station chains in the Kyiv and Lviv regions. Customers are offered about 100 types of popular products, including fever reducers, pain relievers, sorbents, and antiseptics. These locations operate 24/7, ensuring access to medical care at any time of day.

To sell medications, gas stations undergo a licensing process. The government sets requirements for product storage, including the establishment of separate areas with constant temperature control. Under martial law and in the event of potential power outages, gas stations serve as reliable access points for medications thanks to the availability of generators and autonomous systems.
