  • Registration of non-governmental organisations is now available online via ‘Diia’.
  • The process has been reduced from 18 days to around 30 minutes.
  • The system automatically generates all the necessary documents.
  • The number of community initiatives is expected to increase.
  • More than 18,000 civil society organisations have been established in Ukraine since the start of the full-scale war.

A new online service has been launched in Ukraine, enabling people to register a non-profit organisation online via the ‘Dія’ app in around 30 minutes. The service was introduced as part of the digitalisation of public services and efforts to simplify citizens’ interactions with the state.

Previously, the process of setting up a civil society organisation could take up to 18 days and required the preparation of paper documents, visits to government offices and waiting in queues. The new system automates key stages: from drafting the application to preparing the articles of association and minutes. All steps are carried out online without the need for physical presence.

The launch of the service aims to lower the barriers to setting up civic initiatives. It is expected to speed up the transition from idea to project implementation and strengthen the development of civil society at the local level. Civil society organisations play a vital role in supporting the army, assisting vulnerable groups, providing humanitarian aid and developing solutions for the state.

Since the start of the full-scale war, over 18,000 new civil society organisations have emerged in Ukraine. Their role is growing in the context of the country’s recovery and European integration. Simplifying registration procedures is seen as one of the tools for strengthening this sector.
