The UN Youth Forum took place in New York from 14 to 16 April 2026. The Ukrainian delegation spoke about the role of young people during the war and their contribution to the country’s development.
During a separate event organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Ukraine together with its partners, participants discussed how young people are coming together and working in times of crisis. The meeting was attended by over 40 representatives from more than 20 countries and international organisations.
Minister Matvii Bidnyi noted that despite the difficult conditions, Ukrainian youth are actively volunteering, studying and launching new initiatives. The state supports these processes through programmes and grants.
Ukraine’s youth delegates to the UN presented examples of volunteer projects, the activities of civil society organisations, and cooperation with international partners. During the discussions, they spoke about the importance of trust, solidarity and cooperation for the resilience of society.
The Ukrainian experience interested forum participants as an example of unity and the ability to act in wartime conditions.
