23 women veterans receive €7,000 business grants through the Ukrainian Red Cross REDpreneur Women programme

23 women veterans have received grants of €7,000 each to develop their own businesses under the Ukrainian Red Cross’s REDpreneur Women programme. The final of the first cohort took place on 17 April.

The programme was created to support women veterans in entrepreneurship.

During the training, participants worked on business ideas, received mentorship and gained practical tools for launching a company.

At the final, veterans pitched their projects to a jury. Following the presentations, 23 participants received funding. The ideas included manufacturing, agriculture and creative businesses, as well as projects in education, gastronomy and the service sector.

The Ukrainian Red Cross runs REDpreneur Women in partnership with the Austrian Red Cross, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Veterans Fund.

The programme is supported by the Austrian NACHBAR IN NOT foundation and the Austrian Development Agency, while training and mentorship are provided by the Ukrainian Future Business Incubator.
