In 2026, Ukraine will build 113 shelters at schools across 22 regions. The government has allocated nearly UAH 5 billion in subventions for the project.
The funding has been distributed in three stages. UAH 2.04 billion was allocated first to 30 projects – primarily in front-line communities and military lyceums.
A further UAH 230 million went towards completing 22 projects that were more than 60% ready.
In its most recent decision, the government approved funding for another 61 projects worth more than UAH 2.73 billion.
Of these, 29 shelters will be built in communities with a high security risk level, 28 in communities with a moderate or satisfactory level, and one in a community with a very high risk level.
This year’s subvention therefore covers 113 shelters at schools across 22 regions of Ukraine.
