In March 2026, 1,098 people, including 67 children, passed through the evacuation transit centre in Kharkiv, the Ukrainian Red Cross reported.
The centre receives people who have left unsafe areas and are in need of temporary shelter and basic assistance.
The first hours after leaving unsafe areas are particularly difficult. At this moment, it is important to feel support, care and safety.

At the centre, evacuees are provided with essential items for daily living, including:
- hygiene kits;
- emergency response kits;
- drinking water;
- bedding sets and mattresses;
- blankets, pillows and other household textiles.
This support helps people arrange temporary accommodation.
Humanitarian assistance is provided with the support of the French Red Cross and the Danish Red Cross.
