A new space of the Kyiv City Centre for Social, Psychological, Vocational and Labour Rehabilitation “Askold” has opened in Kyiv.
The facility operates as a modern barrier-free centre where people with disabilities of working age can undergo rehabilitation, acquire new skills and prepare to return to work and active life. Particular attention is given to veterans who are returning to civilian life.
The centre is equipped with training workshops in cooking, sewing, computer technologies and 3D printing. It also includes a space for developing independent living skills. The centre can accommodate up to 60 people at a time.
The facility combines social, psychological, vocational and labour rehabilitation services, as well as physical and sports recovery programmes.
Services are available to people after amputations, those with musculoskeletal disorders, mental health conditions, and wheelchair users.
The space is fully adapted for safety and autonomous operation. It includes a shelter, backup power sources and water supplies. A children’s area is also provided so visitors can attend services together with their families.
It is noted that such centres help people return to work more quickly. In 2025, more than 68,000 people with disabilities were employed in Kyiv.
