The materials include four practical guides explaining how:

  • Recover after limb loss: all stages are covered, from post-operative care to learning to walk or move with a prosthesis.
  • Be independent in daily life: how to adapt to everyday activities and make the most of a prosthesis.
  • Work and hire: how to return to professional life, and how employers can create accessible and inclusive workplaces.
  • Receiving state assistance: a clear step-by-step guide for members of the public and staff at the Administrative Service Centres, a list of required documents, and an explanation of how to obtain rehabilitation aids free of charge under the state programme.

The materials are designed to help veterans and civilians adapt more quickly to a new way of life, regain independence skills and return to work.

The guides are available online on the Diia.Education platform.
