In the vestibule of the “Zoloti Vorota” metro station in Kyiv, a photo exhibition titled “Being My Own Goal” has opened, dedicated to the leadership of girls and women with disabilities.

The exhibition aims to draw attention to the stories of women with disabilities who are actively involved in society during the full-scale war. Among them are those engaged in volunteering, defending Ukraine, and developing sports, arts, and civic initiatives.

The exhibition consists of 19 portraits and personal stories. The participants include volunteers, veterans, activists, athletes, and artists.

Each of these stories is unique yet familiar: they speak about great effort and challenges, and about how these barriers are broken down, overcome, or turned into a springboard for change.
