Today, on 8 April, the first 10 families of internally displaced persons (IDPs) moved into apartments in a modular settlement being built by the Ukrainian Red Cross.
Construction of the modular settlement began on 15 October 2024.
Currently, two two-storey buildings with 32 apartments, equipped with furniture and appliances, have been handed over to the communal ownership of the Sumy city community. In March, a third building was put into operation.
Next, three more buildings are planned to be constructed, bringing the total number of apartments for displaced persons to 96.
The project is funded through donor contributions in cooperation with local authorities, notably with the support of the Swedish Red Cross and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
