The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has updated the list of medicines and medical devices eligible for reimbursement under the “Affordable Medicines” programme. The new order of the Ministry of Health came into effect on 31 March 2026.
Now patients can receive even more essential medicines free of charge or with a partial co-payment via electronic prescription.
The updated list includes 37 new medicines in various dosages. Among them, medicines with two active substances – Ospamox (amoxicillin) and Unilat (ofloxacin) – have been included in the programme for the first time.
In other cases, the list of trade names for medicines with already existing active substances, which were previously available under the programme, has been expanded.
For cardiovascular diseases, the programme now includes:
- Telpres Plus;
- Indap;
- Tiurex;
- Verospiron;
- Toradiv;
- Acecor Cardio.
For the treatment of infectious diseases in children, the following have been added:
- Ospamox;
- Trikasaid;
- Uniflox;
- Cypronex.
For mental and behavioural disorders, the programme has been supplemented with:
- Escitalopram Teva;
- Asitalox;
- Quetiron.
The programme also now includes medicines for the treatment of:
- epilepsy – Levenium;
- parkinson’s disease – Levocom Retard Asino;
- diabetes – Metformin and Metaphora®-SR;
- respiratory diseases – Ventolin Evohaler;
- glaucoma – Prolatan, Unilat, and Xaloptic Eco;
- migraine – Migrenet;
- pregnancy prevention – Folic Acid Astra;
- malignant breast tumours – Aralet and Exzemarin.
The updated “Affordable Medicines” programme list now totals 748 items, of which 621 are medicines, 59 are insulin preparations, 32 are combination medicines, and 36 are medical devices, including test strips for glucometers.
Since the beginning of 2026, over 1.5 million patients have used the programme. During this time, more than 3.5 million prescriptions have been filled.
