From 1 January, a law came into effect in Ukraine that increased several child benefits. Currently, nearly 82,000 families receive monthly childcare assistance for children under one year old – 7,000 UAH, and 10,500 UAH for families with a child with a disability.
The Ministry of Social Policy noted that the law is designed not only to provide financial support to parents but also to create conditions for balancing childcare with work.
Around 18,000 families have already received a one-time payment of 50,000 UAH upon the birth of a child.
For working parents, the “eYasla” programme provides monthly assistance of 8,000 UAH, or 12,000 UAH for families with children with disabilities. Nearly 4,000 recipients have already been approved for this support.
Another support measure is pregnancy and maternity assistance. Payments have been granted to almost 13,000 women – 7,000 UAH for each month covered by a medical certificate under the category “Pregnancy and childbirth.”
Benefits can be applied for offline at the Pension Fund of Ukraine, Administrative Service Centres, or through authorised community representatives.
Through the “eMalyatko” service, it is possible to apply for birth assistance and receive the “Baby Package.”
The Ministry of Social Policy, together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, is also working to make all types of benefits available through the Diia app.
