The government will cover utility costs for evacuation points and transit centres for IDPs

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the procedure for compensating utility expenses for evacuation points and transit centres hosting internally displaced persons.

The decision was made at a regular government meeting on the initiative of the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine.

The compensation applies to assembly, intermediate, and reception evacuation points, as well as transit centres.

It covers costs for:

  • electricity, natural gas, heating, and hot water supply;
  • centralised water supply and wastewater disposal;
  • removal of liquid waste;
  • household waste management;
  • subscription fees for the above services;
  • purchase of liquefied gas and solid/liquid fuel if central heating is unavailable.

Compensation is provided monthly by the 25th.

To receive it, an application and service reports must be submitted by the 10th of the month following the reporting period via the personal account on the Pension Fund of Ukraine’s e-services portal.
