In the Chernivtsi region, two new psychosocial spaces have been opened for children affected by the war and their families. The region has become the fifth in Ukraine where the “Tvii” spaces initiative is being implemented with the support of the OSCE.
The new locations began operating on 5 and 6 March in the cities of Zastavna and Khotyn.
The initiative is implemented by the OSCE Support Programme for Ukraine in partnership with the National Social Service of Ukraine, the regional military administration, and local self-government bodies.
The “Tvii” spaces are designed to provide psychological and social support to children and their parents or guardians.
In these settings, children can take part in individual and group activities aimed at restoring their emotional well-being and fostering a sense of safety and stability.
The work is carried out by social workers and psychologists who help them cope with the consequences of traumatic experiences.
These spaces are more than just rooms, walls and furniture. They are spaces of resilience. They are bridges between trauma and recovery. They are places where qualified specialists – social workers and psychologists – help children regain a sense of safety, stability and trust.

As part of the initiative, training is also provided for professionals.
Over the past year, 12 training sessions were organised, and around 350 specialists working with children were trained. Previously, 14 such spaces had already been opened in the Vinnytsia, Lviv, Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
