On 20 March 2026, Kyiv will host an interactive Design Lab “Youth Guarantee: Together with Youth, for Youth”, bringing together around 200 participants from different regions of Ukraine.
The event is organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine in partnership with ISAR Ednannia, with support from UNICEF Ukraine.
Young people will take part, including representatives of the NEET category – those who are not in education, employment or training – as well as members of youth councils, platforms and foundations.
Participants will work on developing solutions to strengthen the youth support system and its integration into employment and education processes.
The “Youth Guarantee” initiative is a European Union programme that ensures every young person receives a quality offer of employment, education, vocational training or an internship within four months after completing education or losing a job.
For Ukraine, the implementation of this initiative is part of the country’s preparation for accession to the European Union.
In the context of the full-scale war, the launch of such a system is seen as one of the tools to support young people, particularly those affected by the war experience, and as an important factor in economic recovery and strengthening the resilience of the state.
The Design Lab format will combine panel discussions, presentations by representatives of government institutions and international organisations, as well as interactive group work with facilitators.
Young participants will help design the “journey of a young person” within the Youth Guarantee framework, analyse existing tools and propose improvements. The outcomes will be submitted to experts working on the Youth Guarantee Implementation Plan in Ukraine.
Speakers will include representatives of the Ukrainian government, international organisations and the European Union, including Minister of Youth and Sports Matvii Bidnyi, deputy ministers from other ministries, Head of the UNICEF Representation in Ukraine Ann-Claire Dufay, and EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarína Mathernová.
The event will take place at the Parkovy Convention and Exhibition Centre in Kyiv from 10:00 to 20:00.
