A new state digital platform, Veteran PRO, has launched in Ukraine, consolidating information about all government support programmes, services, and resources for veterans and their families in one place.
The initiative was developed by the Ministry for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.
The platform is aimed at veterans, people with disabilities resulting from the war, families of fallen defenders, veteran support specialists, local government representatives, and veteran organisations.
On Veteran PRO, opportunities and services for veterans are organised into key areas:
- health and rehabilitation;
- social protection and financial support;
- housing and infrastructure;
- transport and utility benefits;
- documents and status;
- education and employment;
- tax and administrative benefits;
- sports and competitions;
- grants and business support.
The “Health and Rehabilitation” section provides information on medical treatment, prosthetics, dental care, rehabilitation, and mental health support, as well as explanations on the procedures for passing the ECOPFO and the Military Medical Commission (MMC).
Each subsection contains a description of services, instructions on how to access them, a list of required documents, and links to relevant services and institutions.
The platform also includes a section with answers to frequently asked questions. This section covers common situations faced by veterans, including rehabilitation, compensation for surgeries or prosthetics, access to psychological support, medications, or opportunities for treatment abroad.
The platform can be accessed at veteranpro.gov.ua. Users need to select their status, after which a list of available programmes, services, and step-by-step instructions for receiving assistance online or through veteran support specialists becomes available.
