The total amount of alimony awarded reached UAH 60 million, which is 22% more than in 2024. The average payment per case was UAH 2,500, while in 2024 this figure was UAH 1,900, and in 2021 – UAH 1,200.
Judge Petro Tyshkun notes that statistics based on claims do not reflect the full picture. Child support is more often recovered through court orders, where it is possible to assign a fixed amount equal to 50% of the subsistence minimum for a child, or a portion of the debtor’s income – 1/4, 1/3, or 1/2.
However, since many payers report only minimal official income, the payment amounts often remain low.

At the same time, it is noted that a court decision does not guarantee actual payment. By the end of 2025, the Register of Debtors recorded over 208,000 proceedings for non-payment of child support, an increase of 1,172 compared to the previous year.
In 91% of cases, the debtors are men, and one person may have multiple proceedings.
