UNDP has initiated a new project to support Ukraine’s recovery and sustainable development. The project, titled “Implementing Sustainable Development Goals in Ukraine in the Context of Recovery from War Consequences and Pathway to European Integration,” aims to strengthen the national system for implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), support the government, and ensure that national and local policies align with global and local SDG indicators.
Last week, an interagency working group convened to present the interim results of updating these indicators. The updated SDG indicators are expected to be approved, which will facilitate the further development of a draft regulatory document for the Cabinet of Ministers to implement this new system.
In addition to supporting the government’s legislative efforts, the project will also assist in developing recommendations for integrating SDGs into political processes at both central and local levels. The project will collaborate with the State Statistics Service to update SDG information on the Government Portal and develop analytical materials, as well as conduct capacity-building activities for government officials and local authorities.
