The winter of 2025-2026 in Kyiv was the coldest in the last decade and a half. The average air temperature for the season dropped to minus 4 degrees Celsius, which is 1.5 degrees below the climatic norm, according to the Boris Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory.

According to observations by the Kyiv joint hydrometeorological station, similar figures were last recorded in the winter of 2010-2011. At that time, the average temperature was minus 4.2 degrees Celsius.

The winter months, except for December, were colder than normal in Kyiv.

The greatest deviation from the long-term average was recorded in January, when the temperature was 4.4 degrees lower.

The warmest day this winter was 10 December, with a temperature of +9.3 degrees Celsius, and the coldest was 10 February, with a temperature of -20.2 degrees Celsius.

During the season, the capital received 112 mm of precipitation, which is 91% of the climatic norm.
