Ukrzaliznytsia continues to evacuate residents of frontline communities in Donetsk region to safer regions of Ukraine. For many of them, the first step towards a safer life is the so-called “carriage 0” – a special carriage on the train designed for people who are leaving dangerous areas due to constant shelling.
This time, 39 passengers were evacuated in the zero carriage of the Lozova-Lviv train.
Among them were 10 people with reduced mobility and disabilities, children, and pets – 5 dogs and 7 cats.
The Ukrzaliznytsia train took all passengers to safer cities, where they will be able to stay temporarily and receive the necessary assistance.

The evacuation is being coordinated by government agencies and humanitarian organisations, which are providing transport, escort and further support to the displaced persons.
The Donetsk Regional State Administration, Save Ukraine, the Coordination Humanitarian Centre, East SOS, the Proliska Humanitarian Mission, Angels of Salvation and the Ukrainian Red Cross have joined in organising the evacuation transport.
