Veterans with amputations entered the boxing ring in Kyiv

The capital hosted the Republic Cup charity boxing tournament, which brought together veterans with amputations. The sporting event attracted spectators to the Respublika Park shopping and entertainment center. The aim of the competition is to support the military and develop sport as an effective tool for their physical and psychological rehabilitation.

Spectators saw twelve fights involving twenty-four defenders. Each appearance in the ring was a vivid example of the military’s return to active life after serious injuries. Absolute world boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk came to support the participants. He talked to the fighters and inspired them with his own example. Deputy Minister for Veterans Affairs Ruslan Prykhodko also joined the event, and singer Kozak Siromakha provided musical accompaniment.

The tournament was organized by the TYTANOVI prosthetic and rehabilitation center in cooperation with the Respublika Park shopping and entertainment center. The competition was supported by the relevant ministries responsible for veterans, youth, sports, and social policy. Such initiatives create the necessary space for mutual support and help Ukrainian defenders to successfully recover through sport.
