Since the beginning of this year, veterans with disabilities can receive compensation for adapting their cars to their personal needs. The state covers actual expenses up to 70,000 hryvnia. The program helps defenders move freely and return to active civilian life. To receive the funds, it is necessary to keep all receipts, invoices, and certificates of work performed by the auto repair shop.
Military personnel can take advantage of this opportunity after training at special accredited driving schools. The driver’s license must contain the appropriate marks indicating the need to adapt the car. The application procedure requires careful attention to the documents. First, the owner chooses a certified service station. Next, it is necessary to obtain an official conclusion on the approval of the conversion from the State Automobile Transport Research Institute or the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Technicians install the equipment strictly according to the agreed plan. Experts inspect the upgraded vehicle and issue a certificate of conformity. After that, the vehicle must be re-registered at any convenient service center. Applications for payment are accepted by structural units responsible for veteran policy at local administrations. Officials independently obtain some of the certificates from state registries, so there is no need to duplicate existing documents.
Specialists check the documents within three working days. The money is transferred to the specified bank account five days after the local authority receives the funding. In case of errors in the documents, the applicant receives a written explanation and has the right to resubmit the papers. Contact details for verified workshops in different regions of Ukraine can be found on the official website of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.
