On 8 March, International Women’s Rights Day, a Women’s March will take place in Kyiv. The event will be held in Taras Shevchenko Park in the capital, starting at 11:00.

This year, participants will protest against the new Civil Code of Ukraine (No. 14394), which was published on 22 January 2026.

According to activists, under the guise of European integration reforms, the document contains a number of dangerous provisions that could restrict women’s rights.

They point out that the code uses the concepts of “good manners” and “immorality” as legal criteria, which could become a form of moral censorship. The document creates difficulties for divorce during pregnancy or after childbirth, which could force women to remain in marriage.

Activists also highlight the risks of procedural delays, reduced timeframes for protecting rights, and the possibility of financial control over women.

Under the guise of “reforms,” drafts of the Civil Code No. 14394, No. 14394-1, and No. 14394-2 are being promoted without proper public discussion. We demand that they be withdrawn and that a broad public discussion be held with the involvement of civil society organisations and independent experts.

In addition, Marsh supports women in the military, calling for their protection from discrimination and sexual harassment through the adoption of Bill No. 13037. As of 2 March 2026, it was signed by the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada and sent to the President for signature.

The campaign will pay special attention to the issues of returning women from captivity and ensuring full support after their release. The event aims to draw public attention to systemic actions in the field of protecting women’s rights and their safety.
