The National Bank of Ukraine will introduce modified UAH 200 banknotes into cash circulation from 25 February 2026. The release is part of a planned update of the national currency.

The patriotic slogan “Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!” has been added to the upper right corner on the reverse side of the banknote. All other design elements and security features correspond to the 2019 series.

From 25 February, the National Bank will begin distributing the new banknotes to Ukrainian banks, cash-in-transit companies and cash processing centres to ensure their entry into circulation. The updated UAH 200 notes will gradually appear in cash desks and ATMs as part of the regular cash turnover.

The NBU emphasises that citizens do not need to exchange previously issued banknotes. All UAH 200 notes, regardless of the year of issue, remain legal tender and must be accepted at their face value throughout Ukraine for all types of payments, deposits and financial transactions.

The issuance of modified banknotes bearing the slogan “Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!” began in August 2024 to mark the 33rd anniversary of Ukraine’s independence. Updated denominations of UAH 20, 50, 500 and 1,000 have already been put into circulation.

A modified UAH 100 banknote is also planned for release.
