- Monuments of national architectural significance have already been recorded in most regions of Ukraine, including the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and a number of oblasts, as well as partially in Lviv Region and the city of Kyiv.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, at the initiative of the Ministry of Culture, has added five monuments of national significance in Zakarpattia Region to the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine.
The following sites have been entered into the Register:
- The Count’s Court Complex in Berehove – a 17th-century palace ensemble associated with the Esterházy, Bethlen and Schönborn families, which acquired its present appearance after reconstruction in the Empire style in the 19th century;
- Palanok Castle in Mukachevo – one of the most renowned fortresses in Ukraine, built on a volcanic hill and known as a symbol of the city and a prominent example of defensive architecture;
- Nevytske Castle-Fortress in the village of Kamiianytsia – a 13th-16th-century fortification above the River Uzh, regarded as a valuable example of medieval fortification architecture in Zakarpattia;
- The Teleki Palace and Park Complex in Dovhe – an 18th-century example of the “palazzo in fortezza” type with a regular park;
- The Uzhhorod Castle Complex in Uzhhorod – a 14th–18th-century fortification ensemble that has preserved its historical layout and architectural integrity.
According to the Ministry of Culture, 34,245 cultural heritage sites have already been entered into the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine, of which 2,646 hold national significance status.
The State Register includes architectural monuments from most regions of the country, including the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, as well as Vinnytsia, Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kirovohrad, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi and Chernihiv regions, and partially from Lviv Region and the city of Kyiv.
