Kyiv to pay financial assistance to families of those killed and injured during the Revolution of Dignity

On the Day of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes, the capital will provide one-off financial assistance to the families of those killed and to injured participants of the Revolution of Dignity. The total amount of payments exceeds UAH 620,000 and will be allocated to more than 400 Kyiv residents. This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.

Financial support of UAH 2,000 will be granted to Kyiv residents who are family members of individuals who were killed or died as a result of wounds, concussions or other injuries sustained during their participation in the Revolution of Dignity.

The same amount will be paid to families of individuals who were posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine for civic courage, patriotism and the defence of democratic values during the Revolution of Dignity, as well as to non-working Kyiv residents with disability status (Groups I and II) resulting from injuries related to their participation in mass protest actions.

Assistance of UAH 1,800 is предусмотрена for individuals who sustained serious bodily injuries during the protests and sought medical assistance between 21 November 2013 and 30 April 2014. UAH 1,600 will be paid to those who suffered injuries of moderate severity, and UAH 1,400 to Kyiv residents with minor injuries recorded during the same period.

According to the Kyiv City State Administration, if a person falls into several categories at once, they will receive a single payment in the higher amount. Assistance will not be provided to individuals who are fully supported by the state.

Payments will be made to persons registered with Kyiv’s social protection authorities and with the Main Department of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Kyiv.

The right to assistance will also apply to eligible citizens who apply by the end of the budget year, provided they had the entitlement at the time the order was issued. Payments are also предусмотрені for holders of the municipal “Kyiv Resident Card”.
