The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has announced the launch of a grant program for women’s nonprofit organizations aimed at implementing socio-economic projects to empower women. The program offers funding of up to $7,000 USD. The deadline for submitting proposals is September 5, 2024.
The grant is awarded to organizations that meet the following criteria:
- Officially registered in Ukraine.
- Have experience in preventing or addressing the consequences of gender-based violence (GBV) and in promoting women’s empowerment.
- Do not have a mandate to provide direct support, including material or financial aid, to armed entities.
- Operate in target communities and conduct activities within them (preferred).
The program covers the following target areas: Kyiv (Kyiv, Irpin, and Ivankiv communities) and Lviv (Lviv, Drohobych, and Stryi communities). The selected organization is expected to implement a socio-economic initiative aimed at women’s empowerment and/or preventing GBV in these regions. Grant funds must be used exclusively for the project’s implementation.
