The Government has approved the maximum amount the state will cover for the professional adaptation of veterans and their family members in 2026.
The relevant amendments have been introduced to the Procedure and Conditions for Professional Adaptation at the initiative of the Ministry for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.
The changes provide for a standardised tripartite agreement between the veteran, the veterans’ affairs unit and the service provider. This model will allow the state to pay directly for professional adaptation services.
Under the updated rules, maximum funding levels for different types of professional adaptation have also been set for 2026, including:
- for training, retraining and advanced professional development, including obtaining a second (Master’s) degree on the basis of a Bachelor’s degree, the state will reimburse up to 20 subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons at the time of enrolment – currently UAH 66,560 per academic year;
- for the training and retraining of drivers, including within the “Barrier-Free Driving Schools” project, the limit has been set at 10 subsistence minimums – UAH 33,280;
- obtaining another profession or specialisation on the basis of a previously earned degree will also be compensated within 10 subsistence minimums per academic year;
- confirmation or award of professional qualifications will be funded within three subsistence minimums – UAH 9,984.
