Ukrainian TV presenter and Honorary UN Ambassador in Ukraine Maria Efrosinina attended the premiere screening of the documentary “Traces” at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival. She appeared on the red carpet wearing a black dress bearing the inscription “Russian genocide through the body”. Efrosinina shared details of her appearance on Instagram.
Maria noted that sexual violence in wartime remains one of the most silenced war crimes in the world.
According to UN data, more than 90% of Ukrainian military personnel and civilians who were held in Russian captivity reported torture and inhuman treatment. What the enemy is doing to women, men, girls and boys in Ukraine is GENOCIDE THROUGH THE BODY.

The documentary “Traces” tells six stories of Ukrainian women who, since 2014, have survived sexual violence during the Russian invasion in Donbas, as well as in the Kherson and Kyiv regions. The film documents their personal testimonies and addresses war crimes related to sexual violence during the war.




The documentary project was co-created by directors Alisa Kovalenko and Marysia Nikitiuk. The film was produced as a Ukrainian–Polish co-production with the support of the French broadcaster ARTE France.
The film was produced by Olha Brehman and Nataliia Libet through their independent production company, 2Brave Productions. The outfit worn by the TV presenter for the festival appearance was designed by Ukrainian designer Elvira Hasanova.
