Ukraine to introduce a single training standard for providers of services to veterans

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the procedure for implementing a pilot project on organising training for entities that provide services to veterans and their families.

The initiative aims to create a unified state system for training and professional development of specialists in the field of veterans’ policy.

The project предусматривает systematic and standardised training for everyone working with veterans, including support specialists. The Ministry for Veterans Affairs stated that a unified approach to developing competencies will be introduced to ensure a shared understanding of responsibilities, interaction algorithms and the practical skills required to deliver quality services.

The Ministry will also compile an official list of organisations and sole traders authorised to conduct such training. Inclusion in this list will confirm that they possess the relevant experience, knowledge and methodological framework to prepare service providers.

From 1 April 2026, all specialists will undergo training exclusively with selected providers. This is expected to ensure quality control and unified standards of work with veterans across the country.

The Ministry for Veterans Affairs noted that detailed conditions for participation in the pilot project will be announced additionally.
