In Kyiv, special spaces for children, teenagers and their families have begun operating at mobile Points of Invincibility deployed by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in cooperation with UNICEF. During power outages, visitors can keep warm, charge their phones and receive professional psychosocial support.
SES psychologists work with children through play-based and creative activities that help stabilise their emotional state, reduce anxiety levels and prevent long-term psychological consequences. Specialists also support parents, noting that adults’ emotional resilience directly affects a child’s sense of safety and psychological wellbeing.
The new spaces are equipped with areas for creative work, games and group sessions for teenagers. Facilities for feeding and caring for infants have also been arranged.
Five such locations are currently operating in different districts of Kyiv:
- 11 Mykoly Lavrukhina Street;
- 10 Budivelnykiv Street;
- 1A Trostianetska Street;
- 61 Mykilsko-Slobidska Street;
- 5 Panteleimona Kulisha Street.
Five additional spaces are being set up and prepared for opening.
