Three brothers killed in Russian shelling in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region

Key points

On the evening of February 12, 2026, Russian troops struck a residential area in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region. At around 9:15 p.m., a weapon struck a private house where the family lived. Two 19-year-old boys and their 8-year-old brother were killed as a result of a direct hit.

The 43-year-old mother of the deceased children and their 65-year-old grandmother were injured. The women were diagnosed with mine-blast and traumatic brain injuries, concussions, chest, spine, and arm contusions, as well as concussions.

The Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office noted that the victims were provided with the necessary medical assistance, and the type of weapon used is currently being determined.

The death of a man born in 1962 has also been reported.

Under the procedural guidance of the Kramatorsk District Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the war crime in accordance with Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Law enforcement officers are recording the consequences of the attack and collecting evidence.
