Ukraine is joining the international initiative Safer Internet Day, which focuses on discussing online risks and developing practical skills for safe online behavior. The initiative was launched by the European Union and is now implemented in more than 160 countries around the world.

On the occasion of Safer Internet Day, the national educational platform Diia.Education launched a special section with practical tools to improve the digital security of citizens.

Users can go through training materials, simulations of typical online fraud situations, and tests to assess their own digital habits.

A key element is the interactive quest game “Hyena Hygiene and Merezhakh,” which recreates 14 common online situations – from fake job offers to deepfake requests for help – to practice the correct algorithms for action.

The heroes of the quest were characters from the nationwide cyber hygiene campaign that took place in November – December 2025: Hygiene Hyena and Cybermilk. In two months, the campaign reached over 4.1 million users.

The campaign will run from February 10 to March 10. After completing the quest, participants will receive personalized results and a certificate. Those who score more than 70 points out of a possible 140 will automatically be entered into a drawing for branded Diia.Education merchandise.

Twenty-three percent of Ukrainians have already encountered cyberattacks using artificial intelligence technologies, and 35% of adults reported receiving incorrect or fictitious responses from such systems. This indicates that digital risks are becoming more complex faster than protective habits are being formed.

– Yaroslava Deo, Head of the Expert Group of the Directorate for Digital Skills Development and Digitalization of Education at the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

The results of a study on digital and AI literacy for 2025 show that 78% of Ukrainian teenagers and more than two-thirds of adults have already encountered at least one incident in the field of digital security.

The data also shows that users with higher digital skills use several protection methods at once-complex unique passwords, two-factor authentication, and verification of sources and messages. The higher the skill level, the more levels of protection.
