The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has announced that the remuneration of PhD students participating in an experimental project for the training of doctors of philosophy in project-based postgraduate programs will increase by 300%.
The Ministry of Education and Science notes that the experiment includes a mechanism that allows for financial support for PhD candidates and, at the same time, establishes clear and uniform rules for remuneration.
The maximum salary for a postgraduate student will be set at three times the salary of a junior research assistant.
There’s also a payment for the project’s scientific supervisor, which should improve the quality of PhD training and raise the level of scientific support.
Plus, the new model for training postgraduate students includes funding for necessary materials and services, use of research infrastructure, and other expenses related to the project.
