A renovated surgical ward has been opened at the Volyn Children’s Hospital

The Volyn Regional Children’s Hospital has completed the renovation of its surgical department, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Health.

As part of the major renovation, 35 beds were installed in the department to provide children with planned and emergency surgical care, as well as:

  • completely renovated engineering networks and communications;
  • installed modern security systems, including fire alarms, medical call buttons, an alarm system, and video surveillance;
  • updated the digital infrastructure;
  • equipped single and triple rooms with bathrooms;
  • created an inclusive sanitary room in accordance with the principles of barrier-free access;
  • equipped a dining room;
  • prepared rooms for postoperative stay and monitoring of patients next to the medical staff post.

The renovation of the premises, covering an area of about 700 square meters, was completed in four months.

The total cost of the work exceeded UAH 11 million, of which UAH 8 million was financed by the Lutsk city community.

The Volyn Regional Children’s Hospital has the status of a super-cluster institution, providing medical care to children from different regions, including patients with serious conditions.

The pediatric surgery department treats more than 2,000 patients annually, with medical care provided by a team of 15 specialists.
