Ukraine has launched an expanded mechanism for insuring property against war risks, which strengthens business protection in conditions of constant shelling. The programme provides compensation not only for real estate, but also for production equipment, including machine tools, machinery and tools.
The new conditions allow entrepreneurs to independently indicate the amount of possible damage when submitting an application, and property valuation is only required in the event of destruction.
Compensation covers direct and indirect damage from missiles, artillery, UAVs, debris and shock waves.
The payment limit is up to UAH 10 million for property and up to UAH 1 million in insurance premium compensation for each legal entity separately.
The programme covers damage caused from 1 January 2026 and has two components:
- direct compensation for businesses in frontline regions;
- partial compensation of insurance premiums for businesses in other regions.
Businesses from frontline regions can apply to participate in the programme at this link.
The Ministry of Veterans Affairs noted that the first five applications are already being processed.
