In Kharkiv, a transit centre that takes in people from frontline communities has been seriously damaged by shelling. Evacuees arrive there in search of temporary shelter, advice and basic humanitarian aid. This was reported by the OCHA Ukraine.
It is noted that representatives of humanitarian organisations arrived at the site after the attack. They helped to close the broken windows and partially repair the damage so that the centre could continue to receive people.
Employees emphasise the need for rapid restoration of the centre, as the drop in temperature creates additional risks for those staying in damaged premises.
In transit centres in the Kharkiv region, evacuees receive first aid, information about further resettlement and access to social and medical services. Damage to such facilities complicates the work of receiving evacuees.
