A new exhibition, “Through Darkness. The Light of Memory”, has opened in Kyiv, showcasing the digital documentation of Russia’s war crimes in the Kharkiv region, reports Humanitarian Media Hub, citing a publication on Interfax-Ukraine.
The project was created by the Skeiron team in cooperation with the Main Department of the National Police in Kharkiv region and the Memory Platform Memorial. The strategic partner of the project was the Howard Buffett Foundation.
“If we talk about the financial side, the total budget was approximately $100,000. This covers the digitization of dozens of sites, the creation of a large set of documentation, 3D models, and digital reconstructions. It is complex, systematic, and very responsible work,” said Skeiron co-founder Yuriy Prepodobny.
The exhibition is based on digital materials collected from de-occupied territories. It includes models of destroyed infrastructure, sites of civilian detentions, and locations of mass graves. The project aims to show the world the scale of the tragedy.
Plans are already underway to present the exhibition abroad. It has a mobile format and a clear presentation style. The project seeks to preserve memory in a digital form and to prevent the world from becoming desensitized to the war in Ukraine.
