On 1 January, Ukraine launched a national programme called “Health Screening 40+”, which allows citizens aged 40 and over to undergo a free comprehensive examination for the early detection of major chronic diseases. The Ministry of Health’s initiative provides access to medical services in public and private institutions that have signed an agreement with the programme.
Participants in the programme will be able to choose a convenient medical institution, apply for a special card through the Diya app, or submit an application through the Administrative Services Centre. After confirming participation, 2,000 hryvnias will be credited to the card, which can be used for examinations and tests. This support is aimed at the timely detection of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, assessment of mental health and other risk factors.
The government emphasises that the programme aims not only to detect diseases at an early stage, but also to create the conditions for better medical care and prevention for middle-aged and older people. Such examinations may include a physical examination, laboratory tests and additional instrumental examinations if necessary.
Applications for participation are open to all Ukrainians who are 40 years of age or older as of 1 January 2026 or who will reach this age within the year. The examination can be taken regardless of place of residence, making the service accessible to a wide range of the population.
