Ukrzaliznytsia has prepared 100 “Indestructible Carriages” — mobile autonomous heating points and basic services for communities during power outages. The carriages are equipped with heating systems, generators and portable power sources, microwave ovens, refrigerators and Starlink kits for uninterrupted internet connection.
The project was implemented in partnership with international and charitable organisations All Hands & Hearts, World Central Kitchen, Hachiko Foundation, and White Stork without using the state budget. Equipment from the “non-working fleet” was used to create the carriages, which currently cannot run as part of passenger trains but are suitable for conversion.

Special attention is paid to families with children and pets. The carriages are equipped with children’s compartments with games and educational materials, a cartoon zone, and separate compartments and treats for pets. World Central Kitchen provided the carriages with equipment and food kits.
Each carriage is available free of charge at the request of local authorities and can function as a mobile hub with autonomous power supply and basic services for the population.
